Sexual Harassment Investigations

Often in the event of sexual harassment, those involved don't know what to do or how to proceed in order to resolve the issue whether they are the victim, the accused or other party like an employer. Most victims turn to legal avenues to seek justice or compensation. Employers, often inexperienced in dealing with this matter, may just want it all to go away. The accused, of course, wants to be found innocent and often seeks legal defense.

Something to remember if you choose the legal avenue is that attorneys are NOT detectives. There are some hard questions to be asked. Is the accused really guilty? Is the victim really a victim? If this was in the work place, was the employer negligent? What if the employer is the accused? There are so many sides to deal with, so many prejudices to overcome, but only one truth to find. Not every accused is innocent, but not every victim is really a victim either.

With slang so prevalent in both our verbal and non-verbal communication these days, what we say or write can so often be taken the wrong way. So a victim may believe they were harassed when they really weren't but they believe they were and therefore are being truthful, mistaken, but truthful. Unfortunately, this also makes a good defense for someone who is really harassing someone else, too. Doesn't it? Then there are those so called "victims" who would lie in order to receive some kind of settlement. This is where we come in. No matter which side you are on, a thorough investigation by a professional can get through to the real truth and help you get the justice you deserve.
